DRYWALL

  • Fire-Rated (Type X/C): These panels have a noncombustible gypsum core reinforced with glass fibers to provide enhanced fire resistance (typically one hour or more) and are required in many commercial settings to meet safety codes.
  • Moisture- and Mold-Resistant: Often called “green board” or using a fiberglass mat face instead of paper, these are used in high-humidity areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements to prevent water damage and mold growth.
  • Soundproof: Engineered with layers of gypsum and other sound-dampening materials (like viscoelastic polymers), these reduce noise transmission, which is vital for offices, hotels, and healthcare facilities where privacy is crucial.
  • Impact- and Abuse-Resistant: Featuring a tougher core and reinforced surface, these are ideal for high-traffic areas such as schools, hospitals, and busy hallways where walls are prone to physical damage

DOORS & WINDOWS

Commercial door and window installation involves installing, replacing, and repairing various types of business entry systems, including storefronts, metal/glass doors, fire-rated doors, and security doors, requiring specialized skills for precise fitting, sealing, and integrating with security hardware, often for new construction or renovations to improve aesthetics, energy efficiency, and accessibility. Professionals handle everything from measurements and custom fabrication to installation and ongoing maintenance, with options ranging from simple glass panels to complex automated systems, often using Union labor and ensuring compliance with building codes.

Types of Work & Products

  • Storefronts: Full glass entrances, curtain walls, and architectural entrances.
  • Doors: Metal (aluminum, steel), wood, fiberglass, glass, fire-rated, ADA-compliant, automatic sliding, security/impact doors, and garage doors.
  • Windows: New construction, replacement, energy-efficient (Low-E, Argon-filled).
  • Hardware: Door closers, locks, keyless entry, panic bars, security systems

FRAMING

Residential framing: Platform Framing (most common, builds floor by floor) or older Balloon Framing (continuous studs), with variations including heavy Timber Framing (large beams) and modern alternatives like Light-Gauge SteelSIPs (Structural Insulated Panels), or ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms), all providing structure using wood, steel, or concrete for stability and shape.

Commercial framing: primarily uses steelconcrete, and wood, with steel dominant for high-rises and warehouses (light-gauge steel studs for interiors, heavy steel for structure), concrete for heavy-duty uses (hospitals, parking), and wood for low-rise retail/office spaces; other methods include Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMBs) and Tilt-Up

POWER WASHING

Let Hilberg Contracting increase the longevity and curb appeal of your home’s exterior by utilizing our Power washing services.

Over time mold, mildew, dirt, and grime build up on the exterior of your home, deteriorating surfaces and degrading its appearance. Regular low-pressure cleaning protects the finish on your home’s exterior and keeps it in exceptional shape. Even so called “maintenance free” siding like vinyl and aluminum can benefit from regular pressure washing. Mold, mildew, and algae on the exterior of your home is one thing, but it can also spread inward or cause premature aging.

At Hilberg Contracting, we use only the best power washing equipment & cleaning agents available for aluminum siding, painted wood and cedar clapboard/shingles.  We also clean a variety of surfaces, such as driveways, patios, sidewalks and decks, restoring them to “like new” conditions.

DRAINAGE WORK

  • Surface Drainage Systems: These systems use shallow ditches, swales, and catch basins with grates to collect surface runoff water and divert it away from flat areas and foundations.
  • Subsurface Drainage Systems (French Drains): Installed beneath the topsoil, these use perforated pipes in an excavated trench to collect and redirect groundwater, preventing it from impacting soil at the root level or basement walls.
  • Downspout and Gutter Systems: Essential for channeling water from the roof to an appropriate discharge point, often connected to underground pipes to move water away from the foundation.
  • Dry Wells: These underground tanks collect and temporarily store rainwater, allowing it to slowly recharge into the ground aquifer, which avoids overloading public sewer systems.
  • Channel Drains: Typically installed in driveways, patios, or garages, these prevent water from pooling on hardscapes and direct it into a connecting pipe system.
